Winter school

Every year, the school organizes a week-long Winter School, bringing together over 400 students to tackle a common problem. Open to students from within the school, as well as to French and international students from outside, this inter-year intensive aims to experiment with new pedagogies and work collectively on transversal reflections on the city, the territory and architecture.

The next edition will be curated by Vanessa Pointet and Thibaut Pierron, architects and co-founders of the Sub agency, who have chosen as their theme: *The Arts of the Environment

How can we define the relational qualities of architecture? How can we reinforce its capacity to resonate with its surroundings?

The notion of art in the plural places Winter School 2026 at the crossroads of the liberal arts, the mechanical arts and the fine arts. The invitation is twofold: to question the place and role of architecture in the acclimatization, cultivation and domestication of what surrounds us; and to reflect collectively on what happens when architecture takes its place among the environmental arts. By interweaving imagination and measurement, the proposals submitted by supervisors or pairs of supervisors should enable students to experimentally explore a singular aspect of the notion of environmental architecture. The participation of actors, thinkers and experts in the field of art, ideas and techniques is encouraged in the supervision of the workshops.
