    Admissions to Ensa Paris-Est

    Would you like to join us? There are several ways to apply to our school. Please refer to the section that applies to your situation.

    These application procedures are reserved for external applicants who are not currently enrolled at Ensa Paris-Est for the current academic year.

    Changes may be made to the admission procedures between now and the start of the 2027–2028 intake.

    Information relating to the 2027–2028 intake will be updated in autumn 2026.
    We invite you to check this page regularly.

    General information:

    International applicants must provide a translation certified by a sworn translator of all documents in a foreign language.

    Please note that only members of the selection committee are authorised to assess the eligibility of an application or an applicant’s background. Where applicable, their proposed year of admission is final.

    The use of artificial intelligence is strongly discouraged when completing your application: we expect an application that reflects the applicant’s personality. In the event of suspected use of AI, the members of the selection panels reserve the right to use AI detection software and to penalise the application.

    Who is eligible for the Parcoursup process?
    The following are eligible for the Parcoursup process:
    • Applicants sitting the French baccalaureate;
    • Applicants who hold a French baccalaureate and have completed one year of higher education (changing course);
    • French candidates who hold or are studying for a qualification that exempts them from the baccalaureate;
    • Candidates who hold or are studying for a European Union qualification equivalent to the French baccalaureate;
    • Applicants who have been granted refugee status;
    • Applicants of French nationality who have completed a course of study abroad that is not equivalent to the French baccalaureate.

    Entry requirements
    The type of baccalaureate or chosen subjects are not selection criteria at Ensa Paris-Est.

    Please note: final admission is conditional upon obtaining the baccalaureate qualification.

    Timetable
    National timetable for the Parcoursup platform for the 2026/27 intake
    • 17 December 2025 to 19 January 2026: explore courses on the platform
    • 19 January to 12 March 2026: registration and submission of course choices
    • 12 March to 1 April 2026: finalisation of the online application
    • 2 June to 11 July 2026: main admission phase

    The selection stages
    Admission via Parcoursup takes place in two phases following the submission of applications by candidates and confirmation of their course choices:

    Phase 1: eligibility: the application and grades
    The first phase takes into account all the average marks from the first-year school reports and the first two school reports from the final year of the baccalaureate (all types of baccalaureate included).
    The admissions procedure and the documents required are detailed directly on our institution’s Parcoursup page.

    At the end of this first phase, around 600 applicants will be invited to the second phase of selection.

    Second phase: admission: the interview
    Eligible candidates will receive, via Parcoursup, an invitation to an in-person interview at Ensa Paris-Est, which will take place on Wednesday 6 May 2026.
    The interview will last around ten minutes. No written work will be permitted. Candidates may refer to the personal statement of study intentions submitted as part of their application.

    Please note:
    • Only candidates residing outside mainland France will be eligible for a remote interview, upon request and subject to providing supporting evidence.
    • Invitations to the interview will be sent by 15 April 2026 at the latest via Parcoursup. If you have not received an invitation by this date, please assume that your application has unfortunately not been successful.

    Admission results
    From 2 June 2026, successful applicants and those on the waiting list will receive notification of their ranking via the platform.
    The number of places available for the 2026/27 academic year is set at 120 first-year students.


    You are already enrolled at an ENSA

    The procedure in a nutshell:
    Please note:
    • This procedure is reserved for students already admitted to an ENSA, and is open from the second year of the DEEA onwards.
    • Students enrolled at an Ensa as part of a study exchange programme are not eligible for this procedure.

    You are a French or European national currently in higher education or a graduate of another degree programme

    The procedure in a nutshell:
    Name of the procedure: Entry mid-programme, via the recognition of prior learning and professional experience
    Possible entry points: 2nd or 3rd year of the DEEA, 1st year of the DEA, subject to conditions (see the ‘Entry requirements’ tab)
    Platform:Taïga admission

    Application fee: €39 (non-refundable)
    Application period: 5 to 25 January 2026
    Selection process: eligibility assessed on the basis of the application, followed by an admissions interview

    Who is eligible for the mid-programme admission procedure via the recognition of prior learning and professional experience?
    The mid-programme admission procedure via the recognition of prior learning and professional experience is open to:
    • French applicants, or nationals of the European Union, currently enrolled in higher education, who have already obtained a degree in a subject related to architecture;
    • Applicants who are not citizens of the European Union, provided they have already obtained a degree in French higher education in a field related to architecture;
    • Students who have interrupted their studies at a French ENSA (due to expulsion or a change of course);
    • International applicants who have been granted refugee status and have completed studies related to architecture.

    Entry requirements
    Available programmes:
    • Full-time study (L2, L3 or M1), on a standard programme without additional training;
    • Apprenticeship programme (L3 or M1), enabling students to develop both within the school and in the professional world (Please note, the apprenticeship programme is restricted to those aged between 16 and 29 (or older, provided they are already enrolled in an apprenticeship programme, are starting their own business, or have a disability);
    • Structure & Architecture programme (M1), offering training in partnership with École des Ponts ParisTech, providing an introduction to the world of engineering.

    Applications are open for the 2nd and 3rd years of the Diploma in Architectural Studies (Licence 2 or 3), subject to having completed relevant studies or having substantial professional experience in the field of architecture.

    The first year of the State Diploma in Architecture (Master’s 1) is open only to holders of, or candidates currently studying for, the DEEA or a European equivalent.

    The Structure & Architecture programme is open only to first-time Master’s students who hold a DEEA or a European equivalent under the LMD system.

    Applicants must hold, or be in the process of obtaining, a French or European higher education qualification (equivalent to at least two years of higher education or more, depending on the year of entry applied for). They must also:
    • Demonstrate professional experience, an internship, or knowledge and skills acquired outside formal education, relating to architecture;
    • Demonstrate proficiency in the IT tools and software expected of students at Ensa Paris-Est, at the required level (see the study guide).

    The selection process
    Submission of application
    Applicants must:
    • Create one or more applications, depending on their chosen course(s), directly on the Taïga Admission platform, in accordance with the timetable set for the 2026–2027 intake.
    • Must complete all the required fields and upload all the necessary supporting documents.
    • Must pay the application fee (one payment per application submitted) or provide proof of exemption for each application submitted.
    • Indicate the desired year of entry (except for the Structure & Architecture programme): L2, L3 or M1 (see the 2026–2027 intake tab). Please note that this information is provided for guidance only: the final decision rests with the selection committee, whose judgement is final. If an offer of admission is made, the chosen year of entry will be definitive.

    Administrative eligibility
    The administration checks:
    • Whether the application is admissible
    • Whether the application is complete
    • Whether the application fee has been paid in full
    Any incomplete application will be automatically rejected. No requests for clarification regarding completeness will be made, and no reminders will be sent.

    Selection procedure
    Phase 1: eligibility: application
    Eligible applications are examined by the selection committee, comprising lecturers from the school.

    This committee assesses the applications and draws up a shortlist of candidates selected for an interview before an admissions panel.

    Phase 2: Admission: Interview
    Interviews take place before an admissions panel comprising two DEEA lecturers for entry into L2 or L3, and four representatives from the DEA programmes for entry into M1. Lasting 15 to 20 minutes, the interviewcentres on the presentation of the candidate’s portfolio, which serves as the guiding thread for the interview.

    The interview takes place at the school. Only candidates residing outside mainland France may, upon request and subject to providing supporting evidence, be granted a remote interview.

    Admission results
    Admission results are communicated by email. A supplementary list may be drawn up depending on the number of applicants.
    Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by email.

    Are you an international applicant from outside the European Union?

    Who is this for?
    International applicants who are not nationals of the European Union and do not hold a French or European higher education qualification, and who wish to join the School to continue their studies, must follow a specific procedure depending on their place of residence (in France, within the European Union or outside the European Union).

    Entry requirements
    Prerequisites for all applications:
    • Provide evidence of professional experience, an internship, or knowledge and skills acquired outside formal education, relating to architecture;
    • Demonstrate proficiency in the IT tools and software expected of students at Ensa Paris-Est, at the required level (see the study guide).

    The 2nd and 3rd years of the Diploma of Architectural Studies (Licence 2 or 3) are open to applicants, provided they have completed relevant studies or have substantial professional experience related to architecture.

    The first year of the State Diploma in Architecture (Master’s 1) is open only to holders of, or candidates currently studying for, the DEEA or an equivalent European qualification.

    The apprenticeship programme and the Structure & Architecture course are not open to this application procedure.

    Required language level:
    International applicants must demonstrate a level of French equivalent to:
    • The Diplôme d’Études de Langue française (DELF), level B2;
    • The Diplôme Approfondi de Langue française (DALF), level C1;
    • Or the Test de Connaissance en Français (TCF) DAP (overall score of 420 or above and 12/20 or above – written and oral).

    Any incomplete application will be automatically rejected. No requests for verification of completeness will be made, and no reminders will be sent.

    Selection procedure
    Eligible applications are reviewed by the selection committee, comprising teaching staff from the school.
    Applicants may be invited to an admissions interview – conducted remotely only for those residing outside mainland France – before an admissions panel comprising two DEEA lecturers for entry into the 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of the DEEA (Bachelor’s level), and by four representatives from the DEA programmes for entry into the 1st year of the DEA (Master’s level).
    Lasting between 15 and 20 minutes, the interview centres on the presentation of the candidate’s portfolio, which serves as the main focus of the discussion.

    Admission results
    Admission results are communicated in accordance with the timetable set out on the platform used to submit the application. Unsuccessful candidates will also be notified that their application has been rejected.

    You are resident in France
    You are applying for the 1st year of the DEEA:
    • You hold a French baccalaureate or equivalent European qualification: you must apply via the Parcoursup procedure
    • You do not hold a French baccalaureate or equivalent European qualification: you must apply via the Preliminary Admission Application (DAP) procedure – blue application form

    You are applying for the 2nd or 3rd year of the DEEA or the 1st year of the DEA:
    • If you do not hold a French higher education qualification: you must apply via the Demande d’Admission Préalable (DAP) procedure – blue application form
    • If you hold aFrench higher education qualification related to architecture: you must follow the procedure for entry into the programme midway through the cycle via the recognition of prior learning

    You are resident in the European Union
    You are applying for the 1st year of the DEEA:
    • If you hold a French baccalaureate or European equivalent: you must follow the Parcoursup procedure
    • If you do not hold a French baccalaureate or equivalent European qualification: you must follow the Preliminary Admission Application (DAP) procedure – yellow application form

    If you are applying for the second or third year of the DEEA or the first year of the DEA:
    • If you hold a French or European higher education qualification related to architecture: you must apply via the mid-cycle entry procedure through the recognition of prior learning
    • If you do not hold a European higher education qualification: you must apply via the Application for Prior Admission (DAP) procedure – yellow application form

    You are resident outside the European Union
    You are applying for the first year of the DEEA:
    • You hold a French baccalauréat or equivalent European qualification and your country is covered by the ‘Études en France’ programme: you must apply via the Parcoursup process and, at the same time, follow the ‘Études en France’ process
    • If you do not hold a French baccalaureate or equivalent European qualification, and your country is not covered by the Études en France programme: you must apply via the Application for Preliminary Admission (DAP) procedure – yellow application form

    If you are applying for the 2nd or 3rd year of a DEEA or the 1st year of a DEA:
    • If your country is covered by the Études en France programme: you must follow the Études en France procedure and, at the same time, the Demande d’Admission Préalable (DAP) – yellow application form
    • If your country is not covered by the ‘Études en France’ programme: you must follow the ‘Demande d’Admission’ procedure
